Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how InPlayEdge ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the InPlayEdge mobile application ("the App") and the inplayedge.com website ("the Website").

InPlayEdge is a trading name of AMLAPPS Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, United Kingdom, WC1N 3AX. AMLAPPS Limited is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR") and the Data Protection Act 2018.

By using the App or Website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Email Address

During onboarding, the App invites you to enter your email address. Providing your email is optional — you can skip this step and the App will still work. If you choose to provide your email, we use it to:

The lawful basis for processing your email for marketing communications is your consent, given when you enter your email and tap Continue on the onboarding screen. The lawful basis for processing your email for subscription account identification and service communications is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) and our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) in operating the service.

You can withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by contacting us at the address below.

1.2 Subscription Data

If you start a free trial or paid subscription, we receive subscription status information (active, trialling, cancelled, expired) from Apple via our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. This may be linked to your email address (if provided) and to an anonymous customer identifier assigned by RevenueCat. We do not receive your Apple ID, payment card details, or billing address from Apple.

1.3 Device and Technical Information

To ensure the App works correctly, we collect limited device information, including:

This information does not directly identify you and is used to operate, maintain, and improve the App.

1.4 Push Notification Device Token

If you enable notifications, Apple assigns a Device Token to your device. We store this token on our servers in order to deliver push notifications such as Favourites Behind and Red Card alerts. The token itself does not directly identify you and is only meaningful when used together with Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs).

1.5 User Preferences

We store your in-app preferences (such as followed teams, followed leagues, odds threshold, sleep mode, notification level) so that notifications you receive match the settings you have chosen. These preferences are linked to your device token and, where you have provided one, your email.

1.6 Crash Logs and Diagnostic Data

If you choose to share crash data with developers through your iOS settings, anonymised crash logs may be made available to us. These logs are used only to diagnose technical issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it to build advertising profiles for third parties, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use a limited number of carefully selected third-party service providers ("data processors") to operate the App. Each processor is bound by a written agreement requiring them to handle data only on our instructions and in line with applicable law.

3.1 RevenueCat, Inc.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, free trials, and entitlements on the App Store. If you provide your email address in the App, it is shared with RevenueCat so that we can identify your subscription across installs and re-installs. RevenueCat processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

3.2 Apple Push Notification Service (APNs)

Apple operates the push notification infrastructure that delivers our alerts to your device. We send notification content to APNs along with your Device Token; Apple delivers the notification to your device.

3.3 API-Football (API-Sports)

API-Football is our data provider for live match information, events, odds, standings, and statistics. We do not send any of your personal data to API-Football.

3.4 Render and Redis Cloud

Our backend services are hosted on Render and use Redis Cloud for fast data storage. Both providers process data on our behalf and do not use your information for their own purposes.

3.5 Netlify

The inplayedge.com website is hosted by Netlify, which may receive standard web server logs (such as IP address and browser type) when you visit the site. Netlify processes this information for the operation and security of its hosting service.

4. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy:

5. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data. You can exercise any of them by contacting us at the address in section 9 below.

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly first.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our backend systems. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

8. International Data Transfers

Some of our third-party processors (such as RevenueCat and Render) are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to countries deemed adequate by the UK government.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Where the changes are significant, we will take additional steps to notify you, such as an in-app message or email.
